Other top ranking Sci-fi serials are Quantum Leap, Far Escape, Battle Star Galactica, the Dead Zone, Sightings, Babylon 5, Stargate - Atlantis, Stargate- SG1, Sliders , Dark Angel, Third Rock From the Sun, UFO, Batman and so on. These serials are shown on weekly basis and some times continue to run for years keeping the spectators spellbound and yearning for more. There is a new episode every week which though independent in itself contributes to the overall content, theme and the effect of the serial. The prominent personalities involved in acting in the Sci-fi based TV shows are Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Michael Shanks, Richard Dean Anderson in Star Trek Series; Bruce Boxleitner, Tracy Scoggins, and Peter Woodward in Babylon 5; Rene Auberjonois, Michael Dorn, and Alexander in Star Trek Deep Space Nine and so on. The content of the TV serials, their stories, situations and themes are the same as those of the feature films. The television serial ‘Medium’ was a chilling drama of sci-fi genre, based on the book ‘Don't Kiss Them Good-Bye’ written by psychic medium Allison DuBois.
